land on commercial plantations in Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Thailand.
Trees are nurtured in nurseries and then planted out in newly-created sustainable
forests. For those seeking faster returns, there is the option of purchasing standing
timber at various ages, some only three years from maturity and return on investment.
Alternatively, investors can lease agricultural land where crops are grown alongside
the forestry plantations with the option of fixed annual rental returns from the
sale of crops as an alternative to longer term capital appreciation from forestry.
Clients can also invest in carbon offsetting Agroforestry – this combines tropical
overseas timber such as agarwood, teak, and sugar palm with various crops including
tea, maize, dragon fruit, and pineapple interplanted, some of which help add nutrients
organically into the soil.
Investors receive an annual rental income on their profits from harvesting these
crops of up to 15% per annum.
